
Spilt Pea Soup
Ingredients
- 2 u0026 1/4 cups Dried Split Peas
- 2 Quarts Cold Water
- 1 u0026 1/2 lb Ham Bone
- 2 Onions, sliced thinly
- 1/2 TSP Kosher Salt
- 1/4 TSP Black Pepper
- 1 pinch Dried Marjoram
- 3 ribs Celery, small chop
- 3 Carrots, small chop
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 Potato, diced
Instructions
- Soak the peas in cold water, about 1 hour
- Drain and rinse Peas and add to large pot
- Add Ham Bone, Water, Onion and Seasonings to the pot
- Bring to a boil, then simmer for 90 minutes
- Remove Ham Bone, pick the meat off and return meat to the pot.
- Add Carrots, Celery, Potato and simmer till vegetables are tender
- Use an immersion blender to blend up the soup into a thicker and more hearty soup.
- Serve immediately and eat warm.
