
Ginger and Pea Jook
Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 3 cup water
- 1 fresh ginger (“knob” or chunk) (chopped)
- 4 clove garlic (4 to 5 clv) (minced)
- 2 teaspoon MSG (“soup stock” or “soup seasoning” (Can be found in the asian section of your local supermarket)
- 1/2 teaspoo nsea salt
- 1/2 cup peas, frozen
- 2 tablespoon green onions (chopped)
- pinch fresh ground pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- sesame seeds, for garnish
- asian chili sauce, for garnish
Instructions
- Add rice, ginger, garlic, and MSG to pot of water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Add frozen peas, onions, salt, and sesame oil. Stir and serve, adding pepper and sesame seeds. Garnish with chili sauce (optional).
